Fun fact, on top of my full-time job, I have a part time job doing grant work for a charitable organization. I love working with the NGO sector and its the reason why I volunteer. Grants involve research and writing.
Guess what? I love the former. Not a fan of the latter.
Ever since I was a kid, I have always preferred math to english. I have always preferred working with numbers and having to solve problems than having to write an essay. Unless, its research and data filled, I hate writing. There’s a reason why I studied economics – its math with a hint of theory.
Why am I bringing this up? Well, I need to submit a draft proposal for this charitable organization and a girl is struggling.
Well, I think that problem is worse than I thought because Word closed on me and I am hoping that some rough draft is saved because I’m fucked. All my hard work would go bye bye. Okay. thank god, crisis averted. it recovered.
Honestly, I have been working on this proposal for a while and I dont even know. Writing is not my thing. Numbers are my thing. So do you prefer writing or math?

Interesting question. I used to prefer math over writing, but as an adult I suck at math. As a teen, I struggled with writing because my mom would write my essays for me. She did all of my English assignments too. She helped me with my writing assignments until I moved away.
I learned how to write in my 20’s because I had no choice – I needed to learn this skill for nursing school. The main reason why I blog is to practice this skill so that I don’t become rusty. Writing is like any skill: If you don’t use it, you lose it. Writing also allows me to be creative 🙂
P.S. Losing a word document is one of my fears too. The horror! 😱

That’s so awesome that you volunteer for an NGO tho! I certainly don’t like writing essays, but I think that’s why I prefer English to math because there’s not necessarily a single, absolute answer 😅 Good luck!
