And we are at the end of May already. How? I don’t know.
Looking back at the month, not much happened, but what did happen is actually really really good.
At the beginning of this month, I continued applying to jobs because I was set on on getting a job this summer. I got interview opportunities – usually 2 a day at the end of the week. Why I do this to myself, I do not know. And if there are two things I learned, its that I do not like interviewing with men and I am terrible at interviews. I did a post ranting about why I do not like interviewing with men, but took it down because I was still having interviews and I didn’t want it to backfire on me.
I am happy to announce here that I got a job!!!!
I want to make a post talking about how and what is going on, but that may not happen knowing me. So I will just say it here.
Its been 2 weeks since I started working. So far, I am enjoying what I am doing, the people that I am working with and the person who is training me. The industry of the company is very male, but the team is very female led – and I am loving that. I am not being micromanaged and I am getting support from others when I need it. The set-up is fancy – laptop and 2 screen, though it is needed for the work I do. The hours are a bit long – 8am – 5pm, and slightly funny with me being a night person. The past 2 weeks I have learned that my bum hurts after seating on the chair – like really really hurts. I have had my chair for a few years but never had to stay one place for so long .I ended up getting a cushion for it and it seems to work. I am also very very tired at the end of the day. Maybe its because I am adjusting or because I am a night person. I just woke up from a 2hour nap that I could have been a bit longer. Is this what being an adult is like?
I got the first dose of the vaccine. Finally!!! I am so grateful to be partially vaccinated and I am just waiting for the second dose.
You know how everyone says you don’t feel the needle. Oh I felt the needle. But thats a me thing because I am a big baby when it comes to needles. I always give some form of trouble. The strangest thing that happened with the vaccine was that I felt the symptoms in the first 15 mins while waiting after getting the shot. Like first 5 minutes, I started seeing stars and felt light headed. Good thing I was already seating because I might have ended up on the floor. Then the next 5 minutes, I was cold. Then after that my arm started hurting. Such a weird experience. Then again, I am weird.
Other than that, the month was kind of the same. I still love my poutine. I had poutine like 4 or 5 times this month. I still hate the way I look and have gained a ton of weight. I am still in a reading slump. I only read 2 books this month: The Bone Witch by Ivy Asher and A Vow of Hate by Lylah James.
I feel like this is all that happened throughout the month. Maybe I am missing something, but I can’t remember anything happening. So I am going to end it here.
