Do You Like Getting Your Nails Done?

Today I did my nails for the first time since December. I bought polish last week and it was sitting there, so I decided why not just paint my nails.

And I am okay with the way it looks. I am not good at doing it, and I cannot stay still so I always get it smudged. Also the fact that it gets bubbles annoys me. If you’re wondering the polish is #239 Smartease by Sally Hanson Miracle Gel. I have about 3 coats, no top or bottom coat. Its a pastel, strawberry ice-cream looking pink.

So it got me thinking. Do you like getting your nails done? If so, do you do it yourself or pay to get it done? Do you like long nails or short? Bright colors or dark or neutrals? Patterns or solids?

I prefer doing my nails even though I’m terrible at it, because I refuse to pay for it. No offence, it just seems like a waste of money. I understand if it is a special occasion, but I would prefer buy a bottle of nail polish and doing it myself. I’ve only gotten shellac done three times and every single time, it damaged my nails. Once, I got acrylics, I did not like the feeling of fake long nails and the experience was trash. Does it seem nice to have people doing your nails, absolutely, but I just see it as a waste of money.

When it comes to colors, there was a time I used to only get darks, blues, blacks and purples. But not I love whites and pinks, even red. Sometimes I make it matte, sometimes I add some glitter.
