Another month has gone by and I honestly don’t know if that is a good thing or bad thing. Yeah we’re almost halfway through the year, but its also been a shitty year with quite a lot of things happening. Sooooo.
Nothing exciting happened during the month. Pretty much stayed home, slept, read, watched a ton of tv shows. What else can you expect when you are an unemployed graduate with no life.
I discovered my new favourite thing to eat. A toasted bagel with peanut butter and bananas. I love having it. Its just so good.
On a more serious note I guess there are a few notable things about this month.
I struggled with my mental health quite a lot. I felt empty, sad and angry all the time. I wish I can explain it and why but I can’t. And a part of me just doesn’t want to. Between the one year anniversary of my uncle and not being able to graduate, not having a job, everything became too much. Oohh and I gained 15 pounds. Lets just say the quarantine 15 is a real thing. I posted a few updates here and there about whats going on so you can look at it if you want.
My friend and I decided to do a Marvel movie marathon. Surprise surprise, I haven’t watched that many marvel movies before, and kind of wanted to see what the hype was, so I asked my friend if he was interested in watching them and I got Disney plus. Initially I planned to review all the movies, but I am lazy and its pretty much the same pattern so far. A 2hour movie, lots of fighting and a superhero, with a white arrogant male actor. We’re watching in universe order and so far I have liked Captain Marvel (female lead) and Thor. We’re only on Iron Man 3. Not yet done.
Like I mentioned earlier, I watched and discovered a lot of tv shows during the month. And because I am a nerd who loved analytics I can tell you that I watched a total of 82 episodes/60 hours. The Below Deck franchise is something I keep up with because its entertaining but I so happy that Sailing Yacht because it was terrible . I watched season 3 of the Good Doctor, and season 3 of Dynasty which means that I am all caught up. Can I just say that Dynasty is overly dramatic and unrealistic but its still so entertaining. And Fallon is amazing. I discovered Blood & Water, such an amazing different show on Netflix. All I will say is that its South African and involves kidnapping a baby. I don’t know about you but I had never seen a South African show before. I watched Sweet Magnolias, which is so charming. Three best friends living in a small town, where everyone knows everyone. The Baker and the Beauty is another new show and its good. Cuban Americans, friendships, relationships and family, drama
Its a month since I’ve had my kindle and I love it. It comes in handy so much and its making me get into the habit of reading more often. And I guess that is the reason why I ended up reading 6 books this month. They are:
- No, We Can’t Be Friends by Sophie Ranald
- The Worst Best Man by Mia Sosa
- Bound by Honour by Cora Reilly
- Bound by Duty by Cora Reilly
- The Good Luck Charm by Helena Hunting
- Bound by Hatred by Cora Reilly
I’m also in the middle of Beach Read by Emily Henry.
Thinking about it I didn’t do that many random purchases this month on Amazon. It was definitely a month of restocking things that I use everyday; melatonin, vitamins, facial cream and gel pens. But I did make two random purchases:
- A popcorn maker and popcorn seasoning which I’ve only used 3 times. Who doesn’t like fresh popcorn
- A diffuser and essential oils, which I only used once for 5 minutes then it gave me a headache.
Yeah I know my mom should take my debit card from me.
That was my month in a nutshell. Not that exciting but like I always tell myself, beggars can’t be choosers.
In case you want to catch up, this is what I posted throughout the month:
- I Have a Right to Be Sad
- Puppies!!! Puppies Everywhere!!!
- Subscriptions Can Get Expensive
- Was Buying a Kindle Worth it?
- My Little Piece of the Internet
- Just Hearing Those Words: Part 1
- Comparing Yourself to Others because of Social Media
