Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone. Enjoy the time with family and friends, the excuse to eat as bad as you want, the gifts you got and all the traditions that have been in your family And if you don’t celebrate it, well hope you have a good Wednesday.
I know that its been a while, but I couldn’t let today pass without wishing you guys a Merry Christmas.
This time of year has always been my favourite. There’s just something about christmas, the music and lights, that makes it feel magical. My family isn’t big on exchanging gifts, but we do have our little traditions. Baking cake, having a big meal and spending time with each other.
This year is definitely a bit different. For the first time in 10 years, I did not straighten my hair and instead wearing my hair curly. Lets just say holidays and special days, are the perfect excuse to straighten my hair. But this year I was just not feeling it. The last time I straightened it was back in July.
On a more serious note, this year my family is missing someone. I’ve always prided myself on the fact that I’ve never spent a Christmas without my grandparents, failing to realize I have never spent a Christmas without my uncles as well. That is until this year.
With my uncle passing away this year, I am not really in the Christmas mood like I usually am. I’m trying and faking it, but its just not the same. Part of us are missing. I am still grieving. Even though he is gone, his presence is still there in this house and all the memories that we shared.
It wasn’t my intention to make this sad, but I needed to get my feelings out there because I can’t be the only one who feels this type of way.
